Our Hypersonic Tovershoes were designed in partnership with ex World Tour TT ace Alex Dowsett.
After spending many hours in a wind tunnel, Alex realised that BOA Dials were surprisingly slow when compared to their lace-up equivalents. However, BOA Dials are more convenient, and the favoured choice for most riders.
A question was formed: How do we make BOA Dial shoes faster? And that’s how Toevershes were born!
The ‘Tovershoes’ are designed to be placed over the central section of the shoe. The goal is effectively to simulate a lace design whilst also smoothing out the BOA Dials. The results speak for themselves with on average a 1.8% reduction in drag!
Surprisingly we also saw an increase in efficiency when using Toeversoes with lace-up shoes, so if you are all about aero Toevershoes and lace-ups are the fastest possible combination, but the gap between BOA shoes and Lace-ups was more than halved.
